Sometimes things are alive, sprouting above the ground and flourishing in full bloom. This is where we like our creative lives to be. This is where we imagine we can hang out all the time.

Sometimes things are just being born, springing up with tenacity.

Other times, they are dying and fading.
The creative spark (La Chispa) withers, incubating, going deep underground, barren. The spark is there in a tiny form, holding on for spring...for air. Sometimes this is our unconscious, where things dwell safely in the dark.

And then spring comes, allowing for the ideal conditions to emerge again, perhaps differently, anew. The air moves, and the spark catches, and we are set aflame.

We can either trust these cycles, moving with them and resting in them or we can resist, wasting time and energy. Now that I am in my second big round of looking for jobs, I am learning that there is only so much I can do/force...and then, I have to trust my senses. I have felt that I "should" be submitting applications and trying, yet I have also had a sense that I need to wait. So, I am trusting that feeling and doing my best with what I have, yet also being attentive to what's around the bend.
-(all ramblings can be credited to C.P. Estes "The Creative Fire" audio series as well as the many lessons I have learned from using a wood stove for warmth at night)
