Since arriving in California,
I have stayed close to home- in Berkeley,
mostly because I was longing to be in a small community,
something less urban than Philly.
I was not eager to be in the SF city environment
((the birds they sang at the break of day: Start again))
But, the first part of SF I went to
was the Mission (thank you, Steve),
and, it is the place I keep returning to.
I have found light
and color
and something
so
new
so
unexpected
so extraordinary...
((I heard them say Don't dwell on what has passed away or what is yet to be))
The universe seems to
provide messages
and magic
in her streets
windows
murals
mosaics
((Ah the wars they will be fought again The holy dove She will be caught again bought and sold and bought again the dove is never free.))
Plus, there are great cars
and, great cheeseburgers (((mmmm)))
and, great Beauty...in many forms, more of which I am sure I will be telling of in images and words
"Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in." (Leonard Cohen)
ave i told you that SF is my
